Wayne Watson Donates Rifle to Raise Funds

Looking for the perfect stocking stuffer for that black powder enthusiast, antique collector, artist, historian or early American handicraft student on your Christmas list? Consider purchasing a chance or more to win a contemporary hand-crafted custom made reproduction longrifle by master gunsmith, Wayne Watson.

Watson's work can be seen in the 20th Century Fox Studio's "Last of the Mohicans", for which he produced historically accurate war clubs, tomahawks, and the legendary "kill deer" rifle carried by Daniel Day-Lewis, who played the lead role.

See Wayne Watson's web site at:

To benefit the Historical Society's Hawk gunshop project, Watson has generously donated this beautiful work of the gunmakers art valued at over $10,000. The rifle is a faithful reproduction of an original Bucks county Pennsylvania longrifle made by Andrew Verner.

The piece is handsomely carved in curly maple with fine sterling silver engraved inlays and silver wire work. Chances are $20 each and will go on sale at the Boulton Christmas open house on December 8th. The tickets will be sold throughout the year, and the lucky winners will be drawn in December 2008. Contact the Society office at 610-759-9029 for more information.
